Examination

A full dental & oral examination will be carried out. This may require X-Rays whether intraoral or panoramic. This examination will always include your oral cancer screening which is recommended at least once a year.

Cleaning

Teeth cleaning by a dental hygienist removes tartar that may develop despite even careful brushing and flossing, especially in areas that are difficult to reach in routine tooth brushing. Professional cleaning includes tooth scaling and tooth polishing and debridement if too much tartar has accumulated. This involves the use of various instruments to remove deposits from teeth.

Most hygienists recommend having the teeth professionally cleaned at least once every year . More frequent cleaning and examination may be necessary during treatment of dental and other oral disorders. Routine examination of the teeth is recommended at least every year.

Whitening

Having a beautiful white smile may not be as difficult as you think, Great results can often be achieved through a simple teeth whitening treatment.

In the past, teeth whitening was practiced only by the rich and famous, to achieve the tell tale pearly whites for the big screen.  Now, O’Sullivan Dental can offer you this treatment to achieve the same head turning smiles!

Fluorosis, ageing, tea, coffee, tobacco and wine are all major causes of tooth discolouration. O’Sullivan Dental has the expertise and equipment in house to leave you smiling with brilliantly white teeth.

Dentures

Dentures are prosthetic devices constructed to replace missing teeth, which are supported by the surrounding soft and hard tissues of the oral cavity. Conventional dentures are removable, however there are many different denture designs, some which rely on bonding or clasping onto teeth or dental implants. There are two main categories of dentures, depending on whether they are used to replace missing teeth on the mandibular arch or the maxillary arch.

At O’Sullivan Dental we make all necessary steps to ensure your new dentures will feel every bit the new set of teeth they effectively become. We will walk you through all of the available options, so that you can choose the one that best suits your needs.

Fillings

A dental filling uses dental restorative material to restore the function, integrity and morphology of missing tooth structure. The structural loss typically results from decay or external trauma. It can also be lost intentionally during tooth preparation to improve the aesthetics or the physical integrity of the intended restorative material.

The days of a difficult, or even painful fillings procedure have long since passed. Today pre-injection numbing and refined drilling methods make filling a tooth cavity an extremely quick and easy process. At O’Sullivan Dental we will be able to discern which of your teeth may need the procedure and formulate a treatment plan.

Bridges

A bridge, also known as a fixed partial denture, is a dental restoration used to replace a missing tooth by joining permanently to adjacent teeth or dental implants.

There are different types of bridges, depending on how they are fabricated and the way they anchor to the adjacent teeth. Conventionally, bridges are made using the indirect method of restoration. However bridges can be fabricated directly in the mouth using such materials as composite resin.

Implants

Solid, stable and reliable, dental Implants are a way to replace lost teeth. The tapered connection of the modern implant is designed for initial and long-term tissue stability. With an extremely accurate connection, there is virtually no micromovement of the tooth and the implants are almost totally bacteria proof. They are keyed and friction locked. This prevents bone resorption and insures stable and healthy hard and soft tissue.

O’Sullivan Dental use the latest types of implants, with a special treatment on the surface that minimizes the risk of an eventual rejection. Our team of highly trained specialists will give you all the help necessary for you to maintain the implant in the best possible condition.

Extractions

A dental extraction is the removal of a tooth from the mouth. Extractions are performed for a wide variety of reasons, including tooth decay that has destroyed enough tooth structure to prevent restoration. Extractions of impacted or problematic wisdom teeth are routinely performed, as are extractions of some permanent teeth to make space for orthodontic treatment. We’ll advise you of the best course of action to address any such problems.

Crowns

A crown is a type of dental restoration which completely caps or encircles a tooth or dental implant. Crowns are often needed when a large cavity threatens the ongoing health of a tooth. They are typically bonded to the tooth using a dental cement. Crowns can be made from many materials, which are usually fabricated using indirect method.

Bridges

A bridge, also known as a fixed partial denture, is a dental restoration used to replace a missing tooth by joining permanently to adjacent teeth or dental implants.
